Verizon Fiber-cut Causing Sporadic Busies

Problem : Kansas City, MO Verizon Fiber-cut Outage
Location: Kansas City, MO and surrounding areas
Status : Resolved

Detailed Description:

We have a report of a Verizon outage due to a fiber optics line that has been cut. They are working to resolve this issue a.s.a.p. In the meantime, they are trying to reroute traffic. Users will experience sporadic busies due to limited capacity until this is resolved.

Work-around Solution:

Users can continue to dial their current access number and they may be able to get in after several attempts. Alternatively, users on the MO side can dial 816-463-3442 and users on the KS side can dial 913-712-9778. Users will need to make sure their username ends with @kcnet.com when connecting on these alternate dial-up numbers that are not being affected by the fiber-cut.

Thank you for your patience in this matter.

Update: 2/20 11:59 PM - Verizon reports the fiber has been repaired and all call routing has been restored to normal.
