In the last month industry news sites like Digg.com and slashdot have reported that some ISPs are inserting advertisements into the web pages requested by their users. Using services like NebuAd, these ISPs are able to place advertisements targeted to you on pages from web sites they don't own like CNN.com, ebay, and more.
Now, thanks to the University of Washington (UW) and International Computer Science Institute (ICSI), you can now test to see if your ISP is modifying the web pages you visit. The UW and ICSI seek to utilize the data resulting from these tests to study how widespread this new advertising method has become.
